How We Can Help:

Music therapy is clinically proven to improve symptoms related to diagnoses including, but not limited to: Dementia/Alzheimer’s, Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), Parkinson’s, stroke, neurological impairments, and mild motor, cognitive and speech impairments. We are equipped to target goals such as: steadying and regulating gait, improving speech intelligibility, increasing cognitive orientation, enhancing memory, facilitating life review and reflection, increasing expressive and receptive language skills, and even reducing caregiver burnout. Or, if you’re looking for a low-stakes environment to reconnect with yourself and music, feel free to reach out to discuss how music therapy with FLMT can help.

A 30 or 60-minute individual session can occur at your home or residential facility. We come to you to work on your individualized goals using a variety of techniques that best suit your needs. In addition to your specific goals, individual music therapy enhances quality of life, increases meaningful connection, and improves overall well-being. Individual clients are assessed at the initial session to identify their strengths, needs, and goals to create a custom treatment plan.

Group Sessions

A 30 or 60 minute group session takes place at your facility with up to 15 people. Group music therapy sessions work on reducing isolation, increasing socialization and meaningful connection, life review and reminiscence, memory recall, navigating group dynamics, reducing stress, and enhancing well-being. Groups can also target more specific areas of need if requested (ex. memory care group, Parkinson’s movement group, spiritual music group, etc.)

Neurologic Music Therapy Sessions (Individual or Group)

Neurologic Music Therapy sessions can occur on a group or individual basis and target specific clinical goals through one or multiple of the clinical protocols within the NMT™ system of techniques. These techniques target the underlying brain mechanisms through prescribed music to achieve the desired functional outcomes. Clients will first be assessed to see if they qualify for NMT™ techniques with specific needs that fall into the cognitive, speech/language or sensorimotor domains.

Music Classes

Music classes offer an opportunity for people of all ages to connect more deeply with music in a non-clinical setting. Music classes are a great opportunity to maintain your appreciation and participation in music in a low-stress, collaborative environment.
